New Windows 7 shutdown issue

Several Windows 7 users are having problems shutting down or rebooting their PCs, according to a report from Softpedia News.

The affected users complained that when they attempted to turn off or restart their computers, they are presented with the following error: “You don’t have permission to shut down and restart this computer”.

This is the second major Windows 7 bug that has been discovered since Microsoft officially ended support for the operating system on 14 January. The other issue saw users who chose the “Stretch” mode for their wallpaper have their background turn black.

I switched off my updates in windows 7 before the expiry of the system .
No problems so far ,and no reminders about expiry of system .

How do these errors pop up now all of a sudden? I smell a rat, a BEEG MS rat.

No such issues with my Win 7 Ultimate and still receiving updates as well.

Did pretty much the same, also no issues, still have a laptop on WINXP, unfortunately, there are no drivers for most of the hardware in the laptop, for later operating systems.

Bit worse is the Server2008/R2 "wallpaper bug" fix that bricks the OS on reboot

what about forcing ownership of the entire os drive

Sigh how inaccurate. You do know bill gates is no longer active or majority share holder of mircosoft and only has a 2% share. While on the board of directors he is merely an "advisor" to the CEO, he isn't even a puppet master. He doesn't even have a say what happens to the company. lol Nice try

Yes, I know this but he will always be the face of Microsoft for me.
