yup thats how they hook us in, 1mbit, 4mbit, then of course later we find it has a tiny cap, shaping and problems a quarter to two thirds of the time depending on where you live, if it has an uncapped trial period and doesn't cost a fortune I'll go for it... but now I've had wireless for a while I know what to expect

Oh dear, a Sentech reseller?

I spoke with their technical guy . It is a wireless based solution on the 2.4band using normal equip.

They have a 1mb point into one of the ISP's. It is just another one of those that is still technically illegal ;)

Normal equip i.e. Sucktech's little gay modem?

Nope standard wireless Access Point , such as being used in JAWUG. This is technically still illegal , They do no use Sentech or Iburst. There are a few companies doing this type of connection this way .

ahhh ... I can use my old Megawan equipment!

And Megawan lasted almost 2 years, so this should be alright for me - because after 2 years I can get ADSL ...

Jawug? I see, well that would work well if rolled out properly but then the same old issue applies, lack of international bandwidth. As one of my friends in Telkom told me yesterday on the phone. Overseas Bandwidth = politics
