Hello,

Is it possible to access the blackberry unlimited internet service using a prepaid phone?

I think you pay R60 pm and get unlimited internet.

I am scared of using this service on contract. I would like to download youtube videos and the like on my BB and not want to fear a R2000 bill at the end of the month.

Yes, you buy bis per month then, which network?

Also YouTube videos aren't typically included in bis, had a family member get a big shocking bill
 
Youtube is 100% excluded from BIS. If you on prepaid and have no airtime the youtube video will not load, possibly not even the site itself.
 
I wanted to use blackberry on vodacon network, because they have 3g tower here.

Is it possible to install some kind of voip application and communicate with my friends through that?
 
You can use the bolt browser for YouTube videos though. That hasn't charged me.

Nope, VOIP is currently impossible on BB. That may change once they switch to QNX but thats only Q2 next year.
Also vodacom has severely limited 3G in most areas to the extent that edge literally is faster.
