Newegg ordering?

Maybe just my luck, touch wood.

Did ASUS say what exactly can't be swapped out? Saying anything is quite vague as I've recently gotten my ASUS 1201N repaired locally even though it was imported.

I had an issue with an Asus motherboard, but did not have the pop for it so the retailer where it came from did not want to touch it (Damn you Computers Only). After speaking to AsusTek in Sandton they told me they'd gladly have it replaced for me, as long as the board was procured locally. The guy was pretty specific about that. Maybe they have a different attitude with laptops (as these things often get purchased overseas) but they seem pretty strict with components.

Computers Only to be avoided next time regarding PoP? Hopefully if somebody's imported an ASUS PC part and it goes fubar we would be able to see if they are willing or not to repair/swap the component.

It sucks that shops don't accept items back without POP, they should have the serial number on file. Just a way to get out of missioning.

The thing is I didn't buy it from Computers Only. It was a second hand purchase and the seller got it from them. It was also the last time I purchased secondhand without a POP. Luckily it all worked out fine though
