Newegg Shipping to SA?

Why doesn't Newegg ship to SA. They have awesome deals and their prices are way cheaper compared to our stores in SA.

I was comparing their laptop prices to the ones here in SA and the ones here are way overpriced.

I hope they get to ship to SA soon.
 
Err.. any US based store will be drastically cheaper. Besides, even if they did ship here you'd pay through your ass for tax and shipping costs
 
You can use a mail forwarding service like myus, but after the delivery charges and tax, you'll only save a tiny amount.
 
I did this recently for a notebook (from Amazon through MyUS) I could not get in South Africa.

The only place I could find it was Want It All who really wanted it all - they are asking R3500 more than I paid for the notebook, taxes and shipping included.

The shipping worked out to about R800. There is only VAT payable on notebooks which I can claim back. The clearing fee from DHL was a R100.

Shipping took 4 working days (ordered on Saturday morning, here on Thursday morning) from Amazon to MyUS and then South Africa. Excellent service from MyUS.

I will say, if you add a R1000 shipping on average + the VAT on the ZAR value of the product you are buying and it is still cheaper than the retail price here, do it!

Just remember in many cases the warranty on your product will not be honored by the local suppliers.
 
Newegg doesn't accept South African credit cards.

Use Amazon, I use them all the time.
