Hi all. With all the news and interesting stuff happening lately why not start a weekly newsletter. Alot of people do not have time during the week to log onto myadsl and read what was sed in the forums or to read whats happening with telscum and icasa.
If maby we can get a weekly email with like the most important news that have happend more information will reach the memebers. I know 5000+ emails gonna take up alot of bandwith and eat the cap, but what if the person who actuly sends the emails are from overseas where they do not have capping.

Just my 2cents worth - And to RPM and the guys you doing one hell of a job :)

Very good idea. I have currently studying and have a limited amount of time to partake in the forums, but would like to stay up to date.

I think a weekly newsletter would be great.

Its easy to miss things in the hundreds of posts that appear every day

Now why did i not think of that.

The newsletter could include, summary of the weekly podcast, top 5 threads of the week and why the editor thinks they are worth the read, Top 5 news headlines. I have no objection to ad banners that may accompany that news letter. I like the model followed by the guys over atLockergnome but I am certain there are more elegant ways to do that.

How Bizarre

was driving back from the supermarket chewing on a cruncie, and thought, HEY what about all those people who cannot actually afford internet access that we are fighting FOR...how cool would it be to have MAIL MEMBERS who subscribe to a newsletter by email - ostensibly they can get their email at work?
HOW about.....members that are POSTAL Members becasue they cannot afford connectivity full stop!
Come on,.....its all part of the same mindset, we need to double our membership and FAST.

I think most Large ISP's e-mail their customer base once a month to let them know what's going on.

Perhaps contact ISP's and try to advertise in those newsletters. That will at least bring people already connected (mainly dialup) to the forum .

My 5c.

Great idea, there are a lot of people that do not have the time or facilities to frequent the forum and it would be a great way to increase exposure.

I agree, there are so many posts each day that it's a struggle to keep up even if you visit regularly! A newsletter that contains the more important info would be great :) Question is who has the time to wade through all the posts and condense the info?
