Now that Mweb has moved to their own news server the IP has changed to 196.28.78.229

Before Mweb made the change it resolved to the IS news server. But the IP that was attached to news.mweb.co.za wasn't the same one as the IS news server. Any one maybe have that IP?

Its 168.

That's all I can remember.

nope just on certain accounts news.mweb.co.za resolves to different ip's

news.mweb.co.za used to resolve to either IS or SAIX news servers, I believe they run their own one now, just like webafrica does.

jeepers, and here I've been sitting 3 days with news.mweb.co.za timing out and all sorts of other nonsense...

With my OpenWeb uncapped account I can actually use both the news.mweb.co.za & news.is.co.za servers, however it doesn't seem to give me any increase in speed whatsoever.

It seems to me like Mweb is throttling the news server traffic quite badly, even to some of the international servers?
