Since the 26th, 27th of June evrything i have downloaded from the news server did not work. I did use quickpar but it seems some files be missing thus quickpar could not repair the rars. Did anyone have the same problem?

Well, did you download the PAR2 files?

Did you download all of the available PAR2 files?

Did the QuickPAR manage to recover any corrupt files using the PAR2 files?

How many blocks were missing, and how many were required to do a recover?

A lot of the files that I downloaded in the last week have been corrupt, but QuickPAR always manages to fix them using the PAR2 files... Normally I only download 1 or 2 of them, just in case, but this week I have had to download 4 -7 of them!!!

yes , yes , no and it could not repair as it needed more blocks for the repair.Of the 4 files i have downloaded it was between 20 and 30 blocks that it needed. Normaly this problem does not happend during the month only the last few days of the month. I downloaded one of 4 files with the same par2 files today and it came out fine with no problems.

Have you then tried re-downloading the worst of the corrupted files?

Ye i gave it a try but with most of the files needing repair i just re-downloaded the wole thing With 20 out of 37 files incomplete i just re did all of it.
Anyhow im not going to leave a few gigs spare for the end of the month anymore cos of this problem ill be doing my downloading in the beginning of the month and just use my prepaid account for the rest of it

Jarrod for interest sake what were you downloading? Because this happened to me for the first time about 2 days ago while trying to get an episode of Alias, there were 8 blocks still needed for repair. But I don't see what the problem is because you're still downloading the same amount of PAR2 files whether it's at the beginning or end of the month. The only thing I can think of is that some of the PAR2 files themselves may be corrupt.

Seems so, after the 26th the speeds go up and down like a heart rate monitor and there are constant Server Disconnected errors

Jarrod for interest sake what were you downloading? .

Was a new movie but all was ok when i re-downloaded the same file again. With all the service Disconnections we need par2 files for the par2 files
Will see at the end of this month July if it happens again.

Yup. Happens every month. You get used to it.

Well in the last 9 hours I only have 1 / 3 of a file I would normally have in 2 hours. I get bursts in speed and then no connection for a few minutes.

Gonna have to go back to International account and Torrents again ... bah

Heavy or not it's not like we not paying for the bandwidth ....

Oh well some ISP will just lose out on a few hundred bucks now.

I have also noticed that towards the end of a month the connection speed is very erratic and often times out. Out of interrest how much do you guys download from news servers in an average month.
