Hi, haven't seen any thread about one on Rain, so I assume it's either pay or nothing?

Which ones are you guys using?

Unfortunately yes. I use www.free-usenet.com

They have pretty decent prices WHEN they offer the double account promo.

Thanks, cavedog. Perhaps Rain could do like Cybersmart back in the day and hire some SAIX.

I doubt Rain will do anything that would promote downloading...

Yeah I hear you, but a newsserver only between 00:00am and 07:00am, wouldn't jeopardize their network.

What would they gain? Binary Usenet is pretty niche and costs quite a bit to cache content

That while you can get serviceable usenet accounts for less than 20bokke a month

Back when there was a big distinction between local/international bw local usenet servers were more important

Yeah, you're right they have nothing to gain. It was just wishful thinking on my part 'cos I'm perma-broke:eek:
And there's no way Local-Only bandwidth will return, prolly because theirs nothing to gain aswell.
