They need the clicks for $$... hhahah. Probably have a junior dev there with a list of bad words and banning people

Artificial intelligence is just that, artificial. The algorithms used for this should be improved a LOT more. I recently commented on an news article on the app on my phone. I did not once use a derogatory term, any swearwords, racist comments, belittle anyone. I pointed out a mistake on the reporting and my comment was rejected immediately due to "questionable comments".
Maybe, but they also stated that "this could have been deleted due to words not allowed." None was used, and proper grammar and spelling was also used. You questioned their reporting. That makes it questionable.

Google's Artificial Intelligence Hate Speech Detector Is 'Racially Biased,' Study Finds
Google recently created an artificial intelligence algorithm meant to monitor and prevent hate speech on social media platforms and websites, however, it may be having the opposite outcome as it seems to be biased against black people.www.forbes.com
My answer is "duh". It's actually being less biased by doing so as it doesn't care what your background is.According to the study, the use of the "n-word" online used by African-Americans was flagged even though its use is culturally more acceptable and a term often used in AAVE as a non-hate speech by other African- Americans. However, there are instances where the "n-word" is used in hateful terms and the algorithm is currently unable to tell the difference at this time.
Need to have a BLM && Antifa conditional so that it pins and stars those comments to the top.Fixed![]()
If comment sections on other ZA sites are a measure of what's happening locally, I'm glad they have some kind of moderating planned.Only favorable comments in line with the narratives of the day set by the politically active Editors will be published, that's a certainty. AI filtering is not benign, its coded with bias by human input. A Devious way to massage so-called 'public opinion' and reflection to engineered ends.
hahah... they want to create Twitter , SA version. It will be so toxic ... but it will make them money!"From August, subscribers will be able to talk to each other and to us in a civil and informative way, right here on their news platform of choice."
I say ole chap, fancy a little docking at tea time @ShaunSA ?
My answer is "duh". It's actually being less biased by doing so as it doesn't care what your background is.
Well you need AI if you are going to implement critical race theory, where interpretation is required. Otherwise yo can just have a list of naughty words.AI cannot enforce rules based on critical race theory, so it will always be perceived as biased or racist.
Don't confuse hate speech and hate facts.Yeah, the same people who call hate speech “facts”.
not yetBTW what comments, they don't have comments?
If they improve the algorithm to try and determine if the objectionable phrase is coming from and African American they will be stomped for racial profiling. There is no way to win with these people. My answer is "duh". It's actually being less biased by doing so as it doesn't care what your background is.
