So I just visited www.news24.com and did a double-take. I didn't see any announcement of this being about to happen.

It's definitely cleaner but I'm not sure I like it. Is it enough of a change, or just change for change's sake? Are there any functional improvements?

Weird how they've got a currency display above each page and the whole page fades when you mouse over the currency section.

Err I don't see that? It's not in my screenshot above. Is that maybe a browser plug-in you have?

Not mine. The major currencies are pretty much where they used to be.

The mobile site has a splash screen requesting login each time. Highly frustrating

Terrible redesign. No longer scan-friendly, it takes effort and much more time to just browse the site. This was a k&k idea.....

Looks like they went to the bbc.com route for design, would have preferred the abc.net.au/news design route.

I uninstalled the Android app this morning after I was told I had to upgrade to their new app to continue viewing their news

Mobile experience is definitely 1000% better

Upgrades usually suck. So far this has not changed my opinion.

I actually liked the lightweight mobile version, with newest articles always listed first.

Logging in to customise? What happened to cookies instead?

Is the new app not compataible with older versions of Android? Trying to install it for a family member who's still on Android 5.0.2, can't find it in the Play Store.

Yet another generic looking site for the masses

Why is there no dark mode?

The interface looks cleaner, less busy.. BUT it looks like iol copy (desktop version).

The mobile site (previously they also did but it was fugly) being served differently from just scaled desktop is cool and very app like.. I’m wondering it it is a PWA.

It used to be that you could quickly see the new articles since e.g. yesterday, since they were nicely ordered. But now with the big blocks it's nearly impossible.
