Anybody having trouble with saix.net newsgroups. I just can't get a connection. :(

I was having hassle yesterday. It just wouldnt connect. Day before yesterday it was 5 connections allowed, then yesterday 3 connections...and now I can connect :(

Style

similar thing here. though overnight it looks like it connected at some point. How many kB does a connection attempt use in any event?

Same here, it says "group does not exist on the server", that is actually what SAIX used to say when it didn't copy off Giganews, so I guess there's a problem with that ;)

Looks as if I can scratch off the item:

* Buy 10GB local only SAIX account

from my to-do list....

Most probably; that is the wonderful thing about all of the newsservers in this country: they work so long as no more than a few dozen people try and actually *use* them.

Sucks quite frankly, who's with Axxess? lay a complaint ;)

Look it may have some problems but I have been able to get stuff of the SAIX newserver which I couldn't find on the IS News server so its not all doom and gloom.

Looks like it's up today, yippee! :p
Edit: spoke too soon, it was 2 hours ago :(

Is Newshost.za.net news group for IS or Saix???

Newshost.za.net is merely a repository for nzb files. The files themselves would work on IS or SAIX.

However, as its intended purpose is to reports cache files for IS's servers I dont think they would appreciate SAIX users reporting files as cached.

EDIT - of course if SAIX users abused the service they could simply block the entire IP range from accessing the site. ;)
