Newsserver very slow when capped

Hi Guys!! I have a IS Account( 3GB int, 27GB local). When downloading from the newsserver and im not capped, i get full speed( that is 39Kb on my 384K ADSL Line), but as soon as I reach my cap, the newsserver speed drops to 15Kbps, and sometimes even slower. Whats up with this, is this normal, or should i start pulling out my hair.

I assume you mean as soon as you go past the initial 3GB limit?
If so that's a very interesting observation!
I'll keep my eyes on that next month.

Pulling your hair out won't help - just learn some patience.

It could also possibly be that around the time you used up your first 3gb, you started downloading files that weren't cached.

I am on 384 too, and i can say that i get files that are cached at 40kb/s, but files that aren't cached I get at about 15 - 20kb/s.

More and more people are hitting there international cap thus increase in people downloading off news server with local, one of the factors i would say, seems to get worse as the month progresses

you must be either downloading uncached files, or the news server is (as usual) giving problems
