Been for scopes at Linksfield with Dr Zady (spell). He said I had the largest hiatus hernia he had ever seen, hence the 80mg dude (40 AM and 40 PM).

My GP nearly fell off his chair when he discovered the dose I was on.

Still doesnt warrant the dose, PPIs will not sort that problem out. Have you been booked for surgery?
 
I can see that dose happening if you had surgery but only for a 3 days max and if that was the case you wouldve gotten IV. Extreme doses of PPIs are meant to be done only as an inpatient in a hospital

Dose is what the Dr prescribed dude. I don't argue that.

Ye, op coming. With some Dr in Pretoria. Cannot remember the name though (in the wife's diary).
Only end of the year though. The dude is apparently the best in the country and queue is very long.

My specialist is reluctant to do an op and that put me off. If someone is going to cut me open and mess with my gut, they have to be perfectly confident with their work. So end of the year it is.

Guy in the office went for the op with this Dr in Pretoria and he lives a perfectly normal life now. I get so jealous watching him pour the chili sauce on his lunch everyday :banghead:

Tell me about it.

The one day I got to the office and forgot where my parking was. I ended up posing in the wrong spot and only when I turned the car off did I remember and had to move my car :confused:

Another day I was driving the R24 and suddenly lost orientation. Did not have a clue what I was doing in the traffic. Was terrible.

When the random depression started that is when I decided to call it quits on the meds.

Before the specialist, my GP put me on 20mg AM and 20mg PM. That did hardly anything :confused: Probably why the specialist stepped the dose up.

Oh well... I have learned to manage this hernia with basic over the counter meds now, exercise and a slight change in diet - and only a few months to go before I have the op :D
 
Well im no surgeon but its not a fairly difficult op from what the Drs I've worked with have said, maybe your case is extreme and specialist gastro should be able to deal with it.

Yeah you dont argue with the dose, but im suprised your pharmacist didnt. You know I used to pick up on average at least 40 errors a day with respect to dosing. Getting harder these days Drs dont like being told they wrong and too stubborn and pharmacists dont care anymore too much effort for so little buck. Thats why I left that form of practice

I was, I left to become a specialist in R&D... also not worth the work being a pharmacist in retail yes the drugs are expensive but thats the price the manufacturer charges us. for every prescription we process we earn R24
 
i see this is about indigestion and heartburn. my hubby takes this altasec 20 for his heartburn or indigestion. so he runs out of the tablets and asks me to get a repeat script for him when i went to the doctor. not being familiar with this stuff, i totally forgot what the name of it was so i asked the doctor for alcatraz 20 LOL. should have seen the look i got, was too funny.

lol I've heard worse patients come up to me "is this okay for me to take, i got heart sugar and liver?" ... lolol
 
I have just started yesterday with Nexiam 40g please could someone tell me if this helps for gerd and the coughing

Riax is a pharmacist, doctor, he works in a mental institute, he has worked for big pharma companies...... anyone else got anything to add to his list of jobs? Basically there isn't a job he doesn't do, copa who isn't a pharacist blew riax away so badly so i would not take riax words as gospel on anything.

Marine you mentioned certain foods, what are they?
