Does anyone one know if this is the case.
I bought a 3TB seagate 3.5" and my PC will not recognize the disk. If I try and initialize via the manage computer -> Storage section and try and initialize as a GPT drive I get invalid function message, googling has just confused me more.
So I took the drive and connected it to another PC using a cable caddy with USB. It recognized the drive, I managed to initialize it, create a volume and format. then when I returned the drive back to my PC it still not recognized.
My PC is Win 7 Pro 64 bit. The PC that I could work with the drive is Win 8 pro 32 bit. I do have another 3TB external drive (Seagate) connected to my Win 7 PC no problem.
