No big surprises there. I'm disappointed, especially with the interior.

May be time to look at something else when it's time to replace our A3 Sportback...

Front looks a little like the A1, quite nice. I'd say its a much more dramatic refresh than previous new generations - but still boring as hell like only a VAG can be.

Looks like it has an iDrive type control - nice!

Audi used their photocopier at 1.5 this time it seems.

Also disappointed with the interior :( Like the old one more, but exterior looks great

I reckon its nice....but thats it...just nice. Nothing really screams at me though. I even think I prefer the 1 series because of its awkwardness.

The Giulietta on the other hand ;) Owned it for 11 months and I still turn to look at her every time I park and walk away.

+1
Could stare at it all day...but when i get inside and start driving I will probably have to close my eyes so that I don't have to see that interior (which im almost sure is not a good thing to do in a car as a driver...may need to test it out a few time to be sure:p)

Audi A3 now with Twitter and Facebook.

Check out video here

CeBIT isn't an auto show in the traditional sense, but we are in Germany after all, so we weren't terribly surprised to see Audi roll up with a brand new car. The latest A3 made its worldwide debut today, bringing with it that wheel-based menu navigation interface we saw in its prototype phase. The touchpad sits atop the jog-wheel and shrinks things down considerably compared to the original version found in the 7-series. To keep things nice and safe, Audi devised a system that recognizes letters you draw with your finger, enabling drivers keep their eyes on the road while selecting music, making calls or setting a destination in the GPS. Also, as is apparently the norm these days, there's Facebook and Twitter integration -- the car can even read updates as you drive. If you know, you can't wait until you're parked.

As you might have gathered, the A3 is a connected vehicle, with a SIM slot or Bluetooth connection providing the car's link to the outside world. It offers another curious addition, too: a "Phone Box" signal boosting system. Details are sparse, but we do know there's an external antenna that relays the signal back to the handset. That particular feature is compatible with any phone you care to toss inside, and requires a wired connection only for charging (the box itself is amplified, so anything that sits within the enclosure will reap those boosting benefits).

The look of the car gets me thinking that the 5-door will look very similar, not like the 3-door / sportsback scenario we currently have. I personally don't think the exterior looks all that bad. The interior does hint at the BMW's stark-like interiors and VAG-roots are becoming all the more apparent, sadly. One of these days an Audi will really be nothing more than just a rebadged VW. :(

Looks ok, but I'm disappointed. I was expecting more evolution. I almost bought the current shape but held out because the new model was about to come out. Then it took too long.

Interior looks good, but exterior... Come on! Glad I decided on an is250.
