It will not start from lvl 60, lol
What is more you would have to have reached a suirtain level (most likely 80) and meet suirtain requirements (guess a quest) before you can create one of these heroes.
There is some speculation that it may have a faster experience rate though.

Also, we haven't decided on what level you will start as your Death Knight, current thinking is that once your character reaches level 55-70 you will be able to create a Death Knight character that will start at a similar level. With this character you will complete a quest line before being able to continue to level 80.

IMO i think the deathknight class should be granted once you have complete the DK quest, then a starting zone somewhere in azeroth would be nice,I would have the starting zone similar to shat city where all factions can roam and do quests, id say lvl 1 - 20 then you can quest with your shinny new DK as you would if you make a new toon.

I really dont understand why blizz would allow the new class to be accessed at lvl 55,. Just doesnt make sense to me! how does one learn his/her new class then?

My opinion exactly form lvl 1-70 your learn your class how,when,what ect ect. Now getting a DK at lvl 57 you will have 13 lvls to lvl learn with.

Dunno about you guys but at lvl 13 i was such a noob.

BTW guys, Blizzard is decreasing the time it takes to level from 20-60 in one of the next patches, you will be getting 30% more experience from quest hand ins and the exp required between each level is being reduced.

They are doing this so that it wont seam so daunting leveling from 1 to 80.

blizz are redoing the old content in azeroth, More xp gain from quests and monsters so if you do start a fresh then it shouldnt take long to get to 60.

If you bothered to read the my replies you will note that my replied was based on the fact file of the expansion... the info from uberfunk is based in a CM's reply on the forum of his speculation. Nothing have been decided yet, and if the CM know more than what the developers want to post on the FAQ site then all we can do is speculate.
