Next-gen Xbox will invade your TV

What's more, Kinect will play a key role in the next Xbox's TV services. Using the motion sensor and camera, the system will be able to detect multiple users simultaneously and will intelligently control playback based on their movement. For example, if a viewer turns their head away from the TV, the Xbox will supposedly pause the video on-screen — not unlike the Smart Pause found on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4.

That'll get irritating quite fast.

It won't be invading my TV unless they come out without always-online functionality and backwards compatibility.

Yeah, I can just imagine trying to watch TV with my wife who is always busy on her phone / tablet or whatever. The TV would be paused permanently :P

In addition, the next Kinect sensor will also tie into the TV integration features, as the camera will reportedly detect eye movement, which can be used to pause a movie if a viewer looks away from the TV, along with other gestures.
Sounds like some crack brained "feature" you would find in a Samsung Galaxy phone

Like smart pause on the S4 this feature will get turned off by the user on day 1.

A phone isn't really a multi-user device like a TV. I can still see some point in this feature on a phone.

Would be a better feature if it paused the movie if 1 person is watching gets up and walks away. That's about as far as it should go.

Epic Fail.. How will this work with a family watching a movie.. One look away everything stops?

I'm fairly certain it is for gaming, as in someone is looking away from the tv for a reason and i am sure you will have the ability to turn it off.

It will have heavy emphasis on streaming and on demand content, so essentially its being almost exclusively catered to non-brown countries. Pre-ordered PS4.

Nice of you to know everything about the xbox before it's even announced, are you a wizard?
