Wantitall.co.za have it , it seems

But the price ???!!!!!!

Unless I am reading it wrong they want 4k for the hub. In the US the hub and a few sensors ( starter kit ) is 250USD.

Qwikswitch dude ... and no, I'm not affiliated to them in any way.

Watched the Samsung video and I understand the app but what does it connect to? Where are the receivers?

Wantitall want R7k for the kit, Importitall want just under R6k...

Its being sold for $200 in the states at the moment.

Given shipping, customs etc etc.. I think around R5k is probably the landed cost for the item... so a profit margin then has to be built on top of that.

Assume I need a relay & a transmitter for the lights. But how many lights can one relay control(independently), one? If that's the case then this could get really expensive.

Sure , but amazon and other resellers have already built in a margin. So unless they buy from amazon ...

Just looked on amazon , cost to SA all cleared delivered etc is R4804.53 ( includes R1249,50 of import fee deposit )

So that is roughly what places like Importitall/Wantitall are having to pay for the item.. maybe a little less due to bulk shipping.

Sorry for OT. This will be my last post about Qwikswitch.

Nah! Qwikswitch works out very affordable.

You need a Hub @ R1 500 (insert a SIM card that connects to ......... (who knows where?????? I'm not high-tech))
Buy a relay/transmitter @ about R300 (can't remember exactly) for each light you want to control
Download their app and control via your phone and you're good to go.

Supposed to be DIY installation too.

I've connected front garden lights, back garden lights, lounge lights, swimming pool, geyser.

Anybody understand how the Samsung Hub connects to devices.

From what I understand it's supports Android but might be like the Bluetooth on tv wherein works only for their hardware via hardware device id filters
