So i got 32GB Nexus 7 from First-tech. Delivery was the day after I ordered so that was great, it was a schweet deal!

But the Nexus has a screen problem, it is sticking out over the silver edge on the bottom landscape side.
It has not affected the unit up till now, but it bothers me and may very well cause problems in the future.

So I contact first-tech to ask about repairs and they send me ASUS SA's info, which I email prompty.
But it has been 13 days and counting with no response.
I'm planning on phoning them ASAP when I get back from leave, but does anyone have any experience with returning/fixing a faulty nexus locally?
 
I purchased mine from Google in the States a few months back and have the exact same problem - Will be keen to hear about the repair.
 
Ok so an update.
The courier came to fetch my tab after I phoned, on the 3rd.
They had it by the 4th, I phoned to confirm.
Phoned for a status update today, and it is still inline to be fixed.
FYI I waited on the phone for 14:51 seconds, when phoning the 0861 support number, with no answer.
so phone the 011 number, if you need to speak to someone...
 
This is a very well know problem with Nexus 7 devices. No idea why it happens but i have found a few DIY fixes if you are brave enough to try them. My Nexus 7 screen has also slightly "popped" up on the right hand side but its not really something that bothers me (also not really brave enough to try and fix it myself:whistle:)
 
Update again
I received my nexus back from Asus.
All is well now, they fixed the screen as expected, and couriered it back to me.

Hey Kolaval,

Did they fix it under warranty or did you have to pay? A colleague of mine has a cracked screen on his Nexus 7 and would like to have it replaced.

.wanted to find out the price to repair
mustek said +- 2500 if i dont have an account with them? wtf? thats the same price as a new tablet?
