Got a email today. I am actually in shock sortoff.

You get free voip you just pay for outgoing calls which is not at a bad price too. Not oly that you can also choose a inbound call number preflex which is very cool.

You can choose one of the following 087,010,021,031

Now that is coool cause other voip providers charge a fee to have a 031,021 or 010 number cause they are local dids. Wow and Nexus gives it for free.

Here is a copy of the email:

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new product, Nexus VoIP.

Voice over IP (or VoIP for short) is a technology that allows users to make and receive voice calls via the internet, much like Skype. However unlike Skype, with the Nexus VoIP service you will receive a real telephone number to which anyone, from anywhere in the world can phone using their normal telephone.

All you need is a VoIP capable internet connection (we recommend Nexus ADSL) and a software based phone (such as the free VoIP softphone available at 3cx.com) as well as a headset/microphone on your computer. Stand-alone VoIP deskphones can also be used, these can be bought from many PC retailers and simply plug directly into your modem/router and act like a normal telephone!

Free VoIP Number, Free In-Bound Calls and Free On-Network Calls:

With the Nexus VoIP service your VoIP telephone number and all in-bound calls are absolutely FREE!

Calls made from any Nexus VoIP number to any other Nexus VoIP number are also FREE!

This makes it a great service for contacting family members and friends who are also using the Nexus VoIP service, for free.

It is a great saving to businesses who can use the service at different branches, allowing calls using the Nexus VoIP service between branches for free.

You will only pay for calls made to telephone numbers that are outside of the Nexus VoIP network and our call tariffs are very competitive (see website for tariff list).

Worried about moving premises in the future and losing your number? Don't be, because the Nexus VoIP service works via the internet, your number goes where you go!

How does the billing work?:
Each VoIP number is initially limited to a R50 monthly spend amount. Once this limit is reached you will no longer be allowed to make chargeable calls but will still be able to receive calls and make free calls to other Nexus VoIP numbers. You can increase this limit at any time, however we would require that you pay a deposit equal to the amount you wish to set. This deposit would be paid back to you if you ever cancel the service (providing your account is paid in full). We can even set your monthly spend limit to zero if you prefer to only use the free parts of the service! Your monthly bill will be charged in arrears every month and a full itemised bill is provided through the Nexus Customer Control Panel.

How to get started:
1. Sign-Up Online (New Customers) or Simply add the service via the Customer Control Panel (Existing Customers)
2. Receive your VoIP number via email
3. Setup your Softphone or Deskphone
4. Start making and receiving calls!

If you have any questions regarding our new VoIP service please feel free to contact us.

Standard Terms and Conditions and Service Terms and Conditions apply.

Kind Regards,
Nexus ISP

Just pity you have to give them debit order or credit card details, I would prefer to EFT them money to topup my prepaid call account.

A bit of an old thread. The nexus voip line is now R25 pm. Has anyone tested the quality of the service? I'm also open to suggestions for other providers. Preferably with an 011 number offering...

Thanks
