Hi guys, hope everyone's having a good weekend :)
I've been driving a 2011 BMW X3 recently, and today i noticed that if i put my Galaxy S3 in the center front compartment (in front of the idrive controller, gear knob and cup holders, under the radio and climate control) my S3's NFC goes mental, lol, it keeps beeping, it seems to happen at strange times, sometimes in heavy breaking and other times in quick acceleration, or when i start the car, but most frequently in the 1st two scenarios. Ive got both NFC and S Beam on, but would just like to know if anyone has faced this in a similar car, what on earth causes it?

Never mind NFC going mad... when my brother puts his Note in the space below his radio in his 2010 Polo, the phone keeps on restarting.

Now that is a major problem, it must be interfering heavily with the Note's internals. Lol, the very last thing we all need is our cars not getting along with our phones. At 1st i thought it was the Gautrain card that was interacting with my S3 as it was on top of the card, but it carried on even after i removed the card, very odd.

Do you have any use or reason to keep NFC on?
If not, then just disable it.
Unless you've got Tags all over the place of course.

While we're on this topic, I don't get the difference between NFC, S Beam, Wifi Direct and Android Beam?

Shake&Bake
Yep, turned them off, but im just interested in knowing what it is that could be causing it.

Dolby
Neither do i, they seem to do the same thing. When i was sending a file via NFC to a friend's S3 it Beamed the file and it switched to WiFi Direct at some point, lol.
