Any NFL fans here? What is your take on current DSTV NFL offerings?

Yes. I have sent an email suggesting that they cover more of it but I never got a reply. It probably has to do with the fact that in America various channels (FOX Sports, CBS Sports, ESPN) have the right to different games. So for DSTV to broadcast all of them they need buy the rights to broadcast all applicable channels. The fact that most of south africa doesn't give a **** about NFL and other American sports makes this unlikely as I'm guessing those channels will cost DSTV slightly more than action channel for example. I'm not sure if this will apply to delayed broadcasts as well.

But, you can stream the games live from http://www.myp2p.eu. I find the stream torrent ones usually work the best.

Some of the games are shown on ESPN, thou they are a little delayed.

I am 'watching' all the baseball/NFL via the webcasts on the offical web sites - mlb.com and nfl.com .. thou u have to pay for audio etc,
and my crappy 4mb line, which only receives at 800k, doesnt show the video.

I suppose its all about supply and demand .. thou, its hard sometimes to work out, why a poor ckt game, like Bang v NZ is shown, and top
notch baseball isnt. I presume, cos no-one cares enuf to moan, and realistically, how many people will watch, anyway.

What is 'top notch' baseball ? I'm just curious.

Oh, the World Series is on now.

Its the playoffs, and truly great sides like the New York Yankees and Phiily are getting thru to the last 4.

Like it or love it, Baseball has a massive following (which is why, NYY can afford a yearly salary bill of $150m).

If u want to read a great business/baseball book, get Moneyball .. it explains how teams who can only afford a salary bill
of $30m a yr, can compete, with the giants.

Big fan of the nfl here, also disapointed that there isnt much to offer, but have a fieldpass so I am allowed to watch whatever game I want to on my pc,every sunday evening.
