NFS Carbon ATI X1600

I have a strange problem. Just bought a new PC: Duo Core 1.86, 1GB Ram, ATI 256MB X1600 Radeon. When I start playing NFS Carbon it wont start up and gives me the blue screen of death and reboots my pc. I cant get a long enough look at the error on the blue screen, but it looks like some ati driver file thats giving trouble. Any1 know of anything or experiencing the same prob? Would be great if some1 could help me.

Thanks to every1 for their extensive help. NOT . I fixed it by merely downloading the latest drivers. Now who would have thought of that?!!

Well , expert help normally doesn't arrive within the hour, and is definitely not needed for something as basic as updating to the latest video drivers on a new pc
