So with apples event coming up in just a few days, the closer we get the more rumors and leaks spread out and today's ones was a little more insight into some features of iOS6, no flaming as i know some of them/most have already been discussed.

* Maps - As we most know iOS is dropping Google maps support in turn for their own, featuring Turn-By-Turn nav and Flyover preview (3D Like view of maps / google street substitute) although a google maps app will still be heading to the app store for the normal google map lovers

* Siri for the "new iPad"

* Facebook Integration

* Streaming photo shares from iCloud

* Passbook (not much use in this country yet, but reports have seen USA airlines already prepin for this feature at checkin's)

* Facetime over 3G / Cellular - titles says it all, previous only available over Wifi

* Do Not Disturb / Remind Me Later - options added to incoming phone calls

* Mail box VIP inbox, improved photo and video attachment stuff

* Safari using iCloud tabs, image uploading and offline reading of pages aswell as full screen mode..cool...not really

* Accessibility settings - ability to now lock the app into one app (Guided Access) allowing people with for example autism and stuff to work without having to worry about ending the app, and also adds single app functions, where it will come in handy when a iPad is used in a mall kiosk or school tests

I Read a lovely article on the page where all the info above comes from, and its really worth a read if your expecting much from this update, basically explaining what apple is planning in this update not to benefit us but rather set up Apple to be more interdependent and better handle its devices, very interesting and worth the read.

Every time I use an iOS device I appreciate my S3 all the more. I've become so used to the amazing SwiftKey keyboard that it's a shock occasionally encountering the inept, unuseful, unattractive and unchangeable default keyboard on iOS. Heck, for that reason alone I could never move to Apple. That and the beautiful Galaxy Pack live wallpaper.

+1 for sure... Don't know how apple can still be used

Meh. Own an iPhone 4 and iPad 3 but doubt I'll upgrade. Think I'll keep the 4 and go to Cell C. Save myself R10,000 over two years.

+1 I'm on Cell C already with my iPhone 4, so I'm happy. No need to upgrade to iPhone 5 just yet. Only the iOS.

He may be trolling - but he has a point :/

I mean there are options on Android - I can choose how I'd like to unlock it from about 5 different ways. I can choose what icons to remove totally or where to put them. I can choose if I'd like a widget and what to display on it. Apple need to give their users choice.

On topic - thought Siri was coming for the iPad 2 in iOS 6 as well?!

If iPhone 5 doesn't come with some real new firepower the road ahead will become tougher for Apple.

Ag pleaze. Rooigevaar? We are as much out in force as you iFans.

Back to the OP ... that list suck. Nothing there to get excited about.

Maybe so but you will never see iFans trolling android topics in that sub forum.

As I'm using Tapatalk on my SGT I have no idea under what subforums who writes what. One side is not more innocent/"evil" than the other. About even steven.

If its anything like the iPhone app, just check the grey strip above the actual thread topics... You'll see "@ Off topic", or "@ Current affairs" or "@ iPhone and iPad" and even "@ Android". ;)
Back on topic. I'm not really expecting a major overhaul of IOS, more like the Lion to Mountain Lion shift... I am however very interested to see what Apple's map app is going to be like. Google maps is more of a back-up to TomTom for me and since Apple have been working with TomTom on their own app... Hmmm.

I have both Android and iOS devices and this iOS update is really nothing special - basically just adding things that should have been there already.

I refuse to believe that the majority of iPhone users are aware of how good Android has become. Every one of my friends, with or without iPhones, who have played around with my phone are very jelly. Typing is a huge part of cellphone use, and you'll never see your iOS keyboard the same way again once you've experienced what a difference a good keyboard can make.
