Who watches his programs on BBC Life?

Love his garden, his kitchen and his cooking! Very serene ... if I want to relax, that is the progam of choice.

I wanted to say something derogatory about Nigel and was looking up some facts about him not having the stones to do something to his good "girlfriend" Nigella Lawson ... thereby confirming my suspicion of him.

... but then I stumbled on this article of him. Although I still don't admire him, I do respect him a little more.

I did however, and still, enjoy his rustic take on food.

He's OK. Pleasant, as opposed to groundbreaking, but worth a watch.

He just seems a nice person and I like his attitude about things, like living by oneself - he said it best. I am a loner so i can relate!

“I understood that if ever one wanted to live with someone you cooked for them and they came running. But then it is my idea of hell these days, living with someone. The idea of sharing your life with someone is just utterly ghastly. I know why people do it, but it's never a good idea.”

I guess ! If you were a woman and into the wrinkly face stuff, also see Gordon Ramsey ! Sounds like a pretty sad existence though Blu. Perhaps a breakout / breakaway is what is needed ?

That is not my existence. It just sums up nicely the feelings of a loner :)

We all feel like being alone sometimes. Or do you not? Also, we go through stages / phases in life. I lived alone for a long time and loved it. Now I have a family and it has its own beauty.

I don't ! With re to stages/phases, yes, I suppose some do. To each, their own then ! Back to Slater, I find his programs good,to say the least. His daily/ weekly recipes are actually quite good. " Simple Suppers" , I think it's called. I tried a potted herb garden once, didn't work out too well for me, not for lack of trying though, I should add ! Might give it a try again.
