Sony A100, with a 70 -210 F4 lens.
You shouldn't be getting much noise at 400 surely? Its a nice camera, but in all fairness virtually camera could have taken that shot.
Also all my settings were not right. I only noticed afterwards that the ISO was still at 400 from a previous shoot. Created a bit of noise. Just grabbed the camera and ran to get the shot.
Damn. That is one serious snake. Do you live in a rural kind of setting?
In that case I don't want to know what you classify as a large snake. Its actually quite a small snake, about 60- 70cm long.
No I will in a normal suburb of Pietermaritzburg. There is a bit of forestry behind us, but these snakes are relatively common in the area.
I had one of these blokes under my couch in the lounge a few years ago, house had been locked up for the holidays while family was away, was watching TV & as i stood up i saw it right between my feet! I jumped & ran like a little girl. Didnt bite thank god.
Been playing with it and wow - thats a handy little pluginIts not a Canonso there is a bit. But then again I am very picky about it. I even clean ISO 100 shots up. Even the best cameras ISO 100 shots can do with a noise clean-up if you are going to be blowing the shot up.
I ran that shot through the Noiseninja PS2 plug-in. It cleaned up virtually all of it.

I only really see noise at ISO 1600 (sometimes 800 too but not as much) but I'll try pushing things a bit and see what happens.Yeah I love it. I reckon its worth two or three stops in terms of noise reduction. Even Iso 100 shots that are critical get the noise ninja treatment. Its a must have.
You seeing much of a difference on your shots?
