Nintedo Wii Media Launch

Gavin: my impression of the Wii is that the novelty of the controller wears off quite quickly and then you're left with what is (in some ways) a sub-standard console. Having said that, I'm thoroughly enjoying Corruption. The control system takes a little getting used to, but is really great after an hour or two. In fact playing Halo 3 last night felt very "sticky" compared to the smooth, quick response of the Wii-mote in MP:3.

Will stop bragging about corrution now... :p

:(, feel like donating it to a good cause :D

I now need to convince my financial manager to part with some more money....

I still can't get her to agree with R6500 for a PS3 but I have a better chance with this one, it's for the kids you see ;)

@BC, I am also worried about the controller becoming boring, but you do get classic controllers and as long as the games keep coming then I will be happy

Nice.... the launch was around the corner from where I stay, I am sure I coulda gate crashed...

I stand by the Wii... the control system for MP3 is pretty well done. I have played, and I suggest you try it BC, Red Steel. That game shows how the control system can go horribly wrong. So does Call of Duty 4. With call of Duty 4 the pointer likes to get stuck on the edge of the screen sending your character into a fast spin. You end up spinning around really fast while you enemies take pot shots at you until you die...... just like in real life.

However MP3 perfects the Wiimote control interface.

I just got Red Steel! Is it really that bad? (Got the game, only gettting Wii tomorrow, so I haven't tried it out yet).

I wouldn't say a total lemon, it was a first gen game that tried to do fps and didn't quite hit the spot.

So more like coke lite lemon . . . :p

its just uncomfortable.. A bit sticky, nowhere nearly as good as MP3... you can play it, but you sometimes struggle to do what it is you want to, so the immersion factor is not there... with MP3, once you get used to it, you are immersed babay.. but if you have an PAL system you will have to wait for the beautyness... not sure when PAL release hapening...
