Nintendo DS

Hey Etienne, please give my agent a call before you quote me without permission, kthx.

j/k, cool article.

Thanx Etienne I read your Article and I agree, coz Damn you hear nothing about Nintendo in this country. PSP is everywhere, easy to find, ADS and everything, don't talk about competitions... you always stand a chance to win a God Forsaken PSP, take the new MXIT competition for example you can win a PSP and 4 games.

Its like you said If you take out your DS people is gonna ask what it is, coz you don't hear about it...
When I tell people that Im gonna buy me a DS they always ask what it is. and when i tell them what it is, or show them in my NAG Mag, they say: "nah i'll rather get a PSP, its got better graphics, and can play music, videos and pics and all. what can that thing do, so what it has two screens with a touch screen"

But they'll see, they'll see. Just you wait. but then again if the Nintendo don't get the recognition it deserves in this country it WILL fail!

And once again SA will stand out from the rest (not in a good way)
Hope they're Proud(ly)(South African)

Hello there!

Could somebody help me?

I've got Metroid Prime Hunters (absolutely love it)!
I've gone into Wi-Fi hotspots but can't seem to get connected!

hey sorry for digging out my old thread but doob i just wanted to know if u can buy directly at take 2 in Montague? or do u have 2 buy on their site and collect there?

@Vix - Public Wifi hotspots are usually paid for, ie you'll need a user account on the specific network. However I imagine (DS owners pleaser fill in) If you set up a Wifi spot in your own house it should be fine.

@FD Unfortunately Take2 is an online only storefront. You can order and collect, which they're happy to do, but it's not pretty, it's just a warehouse.

Thanks Doob... I finally have the cash (just 200 short i think) but the thing with buying online is u need a credit card.... something i don't have... my dad has a American Express but he says its crap... bt i don't hav a choice. so whats the price at take2.co.za? coz its 1300 at Nintendo.co.za... im just waiting 4 there site 2 b back online

It is thoroughly unprofessional for a site to be down for this long anyway. If you're still in business you keep the old site running while you build the new one.

Agreed.

FD, if you're looking at buying a DS, and get no joy from T2 or nintendo (take 2 has to get them from them) You could look at bringing one in from DVDCrave, they're just over R1000 excluding shipping and insurance. DS games are zone free.

aaargh! This country is really starting 2 irritate the living hell out of me! SA will always stay behind. isn't there something we as the gamers of this country can do?

Start an import company . . .

Have thought about this! The problem is that IF Nintendo Japan have revoked the SA license then I am certain that they will be reluctant to give the license to someone without substantial experience and capital availabel to do the initial marketing. IMO if Nintendo JP have cancelled the license its because of Futronics less than acceptable performance. If this is the case then obviously they will not want to make eth same mistake twice...If on teh otehr hand Futronic just cant afford the business anymore/ wnat to focus on something else and themselves gave up the business then, there may be an oppourtunity...

I think that htis evening I will email Nintendo Nippon/USA!!!

Hey have u guys found out something new yet? Me on the other hand have continued my search... an stumbled carers my only few options 1. a pink ds lite frm btgames.co.za 2. any colour ds lite frm portablepieces.co.za for R1700 and 3. a original ds for R1300

I've read good reports on DVDCrave. They are also apparently customs-friendly. Otherwise I'm told Hopebuy and WinSunx are reliable, but they sell the Japanese one that comes with a 110V power supply so you'll need to get a step-down transformer or buy a 220V power supply. The one from DVDCrave is 220V, but has an Australian plug. Converters are not a problem though.

One cool thing with going for a Japanese one is that they also come in Navy and Ice Blue.

Probably no cheaper than portabledevices if you're just ordering the console from Hopebuy. If you're going to order a homebrew card as well, then it may become worthwhile.

I don't know DVDCrave's shipping to South Africa. You'd have to phone customs for the duties on something like this.

Have you visited shops like Toys R Us and Reggies? Have they only got pink ones like BTGames?

Toys R Us won't be getting any Nintendo products anymore. Is there anybody who have imported before? so that i can know how it works... i think i should take the original from portable pieces. Or rather wait till later this month maybe SA will survive the heads of Nintendo, but what if they don't.

The Toys R Us in Westgate has both white and black ones in stock, R1500 I think.
