Nintendo NX

Must be honest, I can't help but think it's going to have:

1) some amazing exclusives that cost the earth plus
2) promise of some big titles that never release
3) some really crappy content that nobody would bother releasing on any other console
4) pathetic support / availability in SA

And they wonder why everyone gets excited about being able to load backups from SD on a Wii U.

I'll be honest I skipped the Wii U but have played around with it.

Had a Wii and Gamecube though and I can honestly say Nintendo doesn't even make the lost when it comes to controllers.

Even going back to the old days the NES and SNES controllers were outshines by their Sega counter parts.

But I'll need to feel this one for myself and the Pro controller does look quite decent.

As for the dock and stuff I suspect the whole thing will be quite modular yes. Probably have a number of bundles the varying combinations of hardware.

That's assuming it's any good as a pure mobile device. I fear it might not be and the battery might just last a few hours undocked.

Then again as tablets go 8-10 hours should be doable.

I'm just wondering if this will be a touch screen device at all ? Don't think they showed anything like that in the video. That could take a load off the battery.

That's one thing Nintendo games rarely get discounted BUT Nintendo games are cheaper as they have an interesting way of setting the price read this: http://qz.com/749591/why-nintendo-games-have-always-cost-about-50/

“We determine our pricing based on the average allowance of a Japanese child,” Uemara said in the video. “We see this sum of money as our point of orientation and continually develop new games at this price point.”

Not sure I agree that they're cheaper.
3DS games are usually around R500 and Wii U R600

I see local distributors have been upping the prices recently but I assume between the eShop and shopping around that would still be the mark.

What do games cost on the PS4 and Xbone? I have no experience

Don't think I'd mind if it isn't touch. But with big volume seller titles like Mario Maker I'm sure Nintendo would want it to be touch. Their MiiVerse is also drawing and touch oriented just to give another example. If they cut it it would have been very very reluctantly.

I think they don't want hardcore gamers to think Oh No just another tablet, that's for casuals and kids. Thats why they're not giving it focus. They also want to differentiate from every day tablets. If they had shown someone using it as a tablet people might have said: Nintendo is fronting just another tablet as innovative and as a home console. They are trying very hard to show people that it is NOT a tablet.
