Nintendo to make mobile games

After years of scoffing at the threat from smartphones, Nintendo Co. is doing an about face and entering an alliance with Japanese mobile game company DeNA Co. to develop games for mobile devices

Nintendo must launch their own emulator and peripherals, enabling game backwards compatibility. Handheld consoles are entering dark times against the smart device advancements. So many partnerships and/or consortiums to group up with... All that they are doing now is creating another product line. Use what is available and selling.

I always wanted microtransactions in Pokemon. Pay individually for ones I like. Seriously, I do not want Wobuffet and Magikarp in my game.

Current smart devices can't do 3DS, basically...

They said the mobile games won’t be mere adaptations of the games already out for the Nintendo machines but developed especially for the smartphone experience.

They are trending back to the NDS style...

Typical move by huge gaming company to make us fall in love with their characters, and then turn around to milk our pockets dry. Of course I have only ever owned an original Nintendo Gameboy which I hated for being so expensive, and never any gaming console of any kind. So this news is a relief. Have at it console lovers!

Nintendo lost the plot when they wouldn't allow as many mature games on the GameCube while it was new.

No I played all those games years later on emulators. Except Pokemon because that's rubbish.

Pokemon Yellow was the business, I think it also being the height of the Pokemon/Digimon craze, bragging to the other kids about which pokemon you had and me being a kid added to the awesomeness.

The only toy the other kids at my school had was a stack of old tires which we used for downhill races with a broom handle. I remember the punchups we used to have to get the fastest tire. Good memories
