Nintendo Wii U sales fall short

Nintendo said it will keep its Wii U game machine sales forecast unchanged at 9 million consoles, although sales were poor during April-June

Poor Wii U sales are probably largely because the console is complete crap. It has few games, weaker hardware than the Xbox 360 and PS3 which are about to be replaced, a stupid controller with diabolical battery life and an unwanted screen that distracts you from your TV, a mind-numbingly dumb name, a selling price twice what it should be and possibly the most pathetic marketing in the history of game consoles. I do not know a single individual with any interest in this thing - not my peers, definitely not any girls, not any young kids, not the hardcore gamers; just nobody. When it went on sale at Toys R Us and CNA recently for R1k it still wasn't enough incentive for me or any of my friends to go get one.

And it doesn't have much 3rd party support. iirc even EA won't be supporting them which is big considering all the sports titles like Fifa etc.

the reason the Wii u is failing is that it's controller is a gimmick

I think poor name, weak to no marketing, price and few games are to blame.
I do think the hardware itself has potential the tablet gamepad would make for good multiplayer and its great to play in bed but they're not even marketing that aspect. It should be faster than current gen but slower than next gen which is fine it is HD and you don't need 6 cores for Mario, Zelda, Metroid or Pokemon. In fact you don't need ultra realistic graphics for a fun game... you just need good GAMES, nintendo must release as much as they can or risk complete failure
