Is there anyone that could assist me with the radio code for a hardbody. Nissan wants to charge me R700 to get the code but as far as I understand they should be able to get it if I give them the VIN number.

Anybody know someone at nissan that can help me please?

It is tied into the VIN number so whoever said they would charge you R700 is taking a chance.

It's a case of looking up the number - try a different dealer!

You wont believe me but I tried the dealership where the car was bought and where its been serviced regularly...

Just called customer (not) care. They told me to take it to the dealer in order for them to generate a new code. How the radio will know there is a new code I dont know...

Have you checked the books that came with the van? (if you have it)

Look for a little sticker in the cabby hole. I know some dealers stick the code in there

Also. The radio manual is normally separate from the car manual. The code is normally in the back of the manual.

I spoke to someone at Nissan. The code should be in your manual as a small page in the back. But what tends to happen is that the dealers lose the piece of paper (meaning from it away) when servicing your vehicle. Any reputable dealer should be able to assist. They need to phone HO with the VIN.

Just spoke to someone at HO and they said its a no go. Driving from CPT to PTA has been donkey balls thus far!!! Do you know the person that you spoke to at the dealership creeper? Would you perhaps be able to assist me please???

I am desperate!

What is HO Reason for not allowing you to get the code?

I'll find out if he is willing to do it. But it will only be next week. So it moght not be of help. My suggestion before going through me is to lodge a complaint at Nissan and Hellopeter. I've owned a few cars and have never had a problem.

Security reasons, which I understand. Thanks for the offer but I'm on the way to PTA now and coming back friday.
