Nissan Micra Brake problem... any thoughts?

Hi Guys,

I have a 2012 Nissan Micra and since Sunday evening I noticed a weird issue on the brakes. Basically I get this *tick* *tock* sound alternating between left and right on the front brakes when standing still or coming to a standstill.
At first I thought it might just be contraction and expansion caused by worn brake pads heating up and cooling down the brake pad holder but it's a relatively loud sound and I can even feel the vibration through the car with each *tick*.
Difference in pressure in the brake pedal doesn't seem to make a difference.

I tested just now in the garage at work and it doesn't happen when I turn off the engine.
I think it's pretty obvious it's most likely an issue with the ABS system, maybe just a sensor or something... Oh and there's no engine light or anything.

I would just like to know if anyone has any deeper understanding of what exactly is causing it, don't want to get nailed by unnecessary BS from mechanic.

Thanks!

Hallo Raptor,

How did you manage to fix this problem? My 2012 Micra started doing the same exact things this morning. Brakes are working fine though. Any advise would be much appreciated!

Kind Regards

first thing to do would be to take the wheel off and inspect the pads and disc, changes are it could even just be a tiny stone
