My friend bought a 2009 micrastar recently.

Does anybody have the radio code or know where it can be found?

Haven't tried nissan yet as they'll rip him off for sure.

It's the 1.9 diesel version I think.

Owners manual has it at the back.
You have to enter the code whenever the battery is changed or disconnected.

Should be in the manual on a small sticker 4 digits probably
If it is not there you need to Take the VIN number of the car as well as the Part number and serial of the radio to Nissan, they can then request it from head office. NB you need all of the above, just the VIN wont be enough.

If the car was bought from a dealer have them sort it out.

I heard somewhere the micras radio can be set to show you happy birthday on the radio

dont know how true that is?

I have a Micra. It's not the radio, but the cars drive computer. Can set birthday and anniversaries. It also wishes you happy new year and merry christmas. All displayed as messages just below the speedo.

It's the small things in life...

I have no idea. Mine is a 2011 K13 model (the newer, less frog-like model). There are two buttons on the dash to the right of the steering wheel. You use this to have a look through the trip computer and to set the time and date. Also used to set birthdays and reminders.

so it wishes you happy birthday, new year, and Christmas, I suppose its difficult to set up?
I mean with only 2 buttons on the dash it must be tricky to configure;

Not at all. It takes like 2 minutes to insert the dates. It really is simple once you get to know your car.

Sometimes the code is hand written under or at the back of the deck. That's if you're lucky.

Earlier this year I needed the code for my Almera's radio. I e-mailed about 5 different nissan dealers the radios serial number (found underneath the radio) and one got back with the code. No charge & it only costed me time to remove the deck, take a pic or 2 and send a few e-mails.
