Can anyone tell me if the Nissan Nevara is any good? I am thinking of trading my current car for one.
Maintenance, insurance, fuel costs on these LDV's, any serious problems perhaps?
Last service at 165k cost me R3800 which included skimming front disks and new pads.
Range on the 4l is around 600km or so depending on town or highway and how heavy your foot is. It is heavy on fuel.
Biggest complaint on the manual was the clutch going. It hasn't happened to me yet. But the replacement cost is over R20k apparently.
Comfort. The vehicle is spacious inside and can comfortably fit a tall adult in the back. I just drove to Durban and back last week and it goes like a bomb, is stable on the road with little road noise in the cab.
Would I buy another? I am thinking of trading it in on the 3l diesel v9x as she is getting a bit long in the tooth and would to lessen my fuel bill a tad.
I think the diesel model would be better seeing that goverment strategises to lift fuel prices with +-R1 pl - (daylight robbery)
Thanks for the link, it will really be helpfull!
Just got back from a trip with a friend and his 2.5 diesel.
Towing a trailer insulated box and heavily loaded bakkie @ 120 gave 10/liter.
The bakkie has 186000km on so they are not heavy but that is a 4x2 though.
No rattles etc that one would expect. A good vehicle but not as cheap as one would think. The titanium is awsome but $$$.
