I've had this bakkie for about a year now. I don't use it much on the farm though, especially in good weather. But, with this last bit of rain, I have had to use it quite a bit. What has made me so annoyed is the ABS. I want to be able to disengage it when I am using 4x4 without needing to pull the fuse.

I learned very quickly in my younger days to use my brakes and acceleration to help me steer when it is very muddy. I know how to avoid hitting rocks, fence posts and ditches when sliding, and particularly in 4x4. It is just second nature. But now I have this annoying ABS that won't allow me to use my brakes to steer. All ABS does is stop you from locking the brakes when you need to to help steer.

I have looked online for solutions, but they all talk about either disabling the ABS altogether or by pulling the fuse.

Any simple ideas?

If you're not too worried about the factory warranty you could install a suitable switch, I suppose, but I don't know if there would be any adverse effect if the ABS system is habitually powered off/on. What is the rating on the fuse?
