No 3G BIS?

For the last month or so I have not been able to get BIS on 3G...at all.
As I'm sitting here now I'm sending this on GPRS.

When I select 3G it gives me NO signal...nothing...only SOS.

WTF is going on?

Have you tested your sim in another phone to see if it picks up 3G? Is it happening in one specific area or all over the place? If you can get 3G signal with your sim in another phone then it might be your handset that is faulty.

BB pay more than other smartphone users? My BB is 59 a month fixed (crappy speeds or not). My SGS is at least R180 for data so BB does work out cheaper than data packages.

Agreed with the sim card test in another phone. You can't blame BB if your network sucks.

huh? BIS is the data service, not the operating system... iOS and android are not a data service????

Take a look at the below post I posted sometime back. Forces the network to supply 3G signal, works for MTN, should also work for all the other networks, does jump to EDGE from time to time but 90% of the time, its full 3G all the time.

BIS is not the Operating system it is the Blackberry Internet Service. The Operating systems are named OS 5, OS 7 etc.

What I was pointing out is that you are saying why use the internet when you can have windows. Its a non sequitur Anyway I do agree that BB is useless without BIS. Which is why I have an android phone and a bb phone (for BIS which I only use BBM on)
