No 4Mb line for me

hi guys
Telkom says i cant get 4mb adsl cause my exchange is not setup for it...lol
my next bet is 512, just wanted to know , i a p2p junky what sort of download speeds can i expect to see?

im currently on vodafone 3g and get sumthing 25kbs if the torrent is well seeded.

ps: im a total newbee to dsl and insallation date is 2morrow.

By the way, did you phone Telkom for them to tell you this or did you order the 4Mb line and they told you this when they came to your house?

For gaming on a Playstaion 3, 512Kb just isn't good enough.:(
?? I dont know of any game that uses >50K/s downstream or > 12K/s upstream (512k speeds). You're probably trying to play on international servers? If so, getting a 4mbps line isnt going to lower your lag. playing on a server half way accross the world is going to lag regardless of the capacity of your line.

Agreed. Playing games on XBL or PSN against people internationally will always have some lag. There's no way of getting around it and upgrading your line speed will definitely not help.

The only advice I can offer is to try and get into the local community. Playing against local players will give you the low latency you desire.
 
I'm on a 4 mb line at home and when I p2p I very seldom see speeds of over 70kb / s download if there are a lot of people sharing.

after seening ur post, i phoned telkom and the lady on the other end did a check. she says that the exchange cant support 4mb lines yet.
