hi

yesterday my computer have been running extremly slow so i decided to install tuneup 2011 to clean my reg and temp folder oh man how i regret it. Tuneup gave me some recommendations for security reasons, so i just went and click yes to all as i remembered i disabled network sharing( something like that) and after tuneup told me to restart my desktop so i did, my folder on desktop haven't been working ever since. the computer is running on a wireless router from one computer(reception) that uses xp pro and other that uses xp pro as well. they haven't changed anything on their network setting that i know for a fact. im running win 7 home premium (service pack 1) i uninstalling tuneup at first problem not solved then, i tried system restore problem not solved, i tried installing tuneup again to enable network sharing and enabling it but still to no avail. my boss

the win xp can see my shared folder but cant access it. in the network options password protect is off and network
sharing is on. the win7 pc is running on a wireless internet router that everyone share to use the internet and file and printer

sorry for my bad english

thanks in advance

Uninstall Tuneup and never install it again, you are better off without it.

Try going to Network and sharing center, click change advanced sharing settings on the left, on Home and network or your current profile turn on the following:

Network Discovery
File and printer sharing
Sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files

Turn off Password protected sharing

If you still don't come right try looking at this: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-7/share-files-and-printers-between-windows-7-and-xp/

If you want to keep your computer in check try CCleaner and Defraggler

Oh dear. I wish more people knew the POS that TuneUp is. Never, and I repeat, never, ever, go near that software. It does tremendous damage. You should try to get Revo Uninstaller as well. It completely uninstalls any programme that you install on your PC/laptop.

Tuneup utilities 2013 is pretty decent. I never have any issues with it and makes my pc more responsive. You just need to know how to use the software.

I think you disabled the administrative shares or something like that.

BTW if you are using a SSD don't defrag it or you can't use it anymore
