No ADSL signal on modem

Hi everyone

I finally got my ADSL line last week (only took 3 and a half months), I am using a netgear modem and router. Worked beautifully for 4 days. On Friday afternoon my connection went down. The light on the modem which indicates that it is connected to a ADSL line has gone off. Its been down the whole weekend, do you think this is a telkom line fault or a modem issue (I have called for them to check the line - no reply yet)

Since Friday my connection has also been stuffed, but only for periods at a time. I heard something about blown thingamabobs and repairs and whatnot.
It's driving me crazy.

Connected to the Panorama exchange btw.

I had exactly the same problems with my line....after a week of arguing with Telkom they came out tested the line and found the line from my house the exchange was the problem. (Try to convince a call center mechanic that your non telkom modem is not the problem .... lots of fun).

well if your light is not on at all more than likely modem

if it is flashing then its the line

A technician just came to check it out (not bad response time). There was a loose wire somewhere between the house and the road. Dunno how that can happen but at least its up and running again.
