So I have a standard MNET decoder. Over the last few months at least once a month the audio totally goes. I have called Multichoice and they give the standard response to unplug the decoder and then retune the decoder to find a channel that has audio.
So on Tuesday I took the decoder in and they replaced it because it was faulty. Of course they replaced it with a faulty decoder so I took it back.
It worked for 2 days before the sound went down again.

Now they are saying it's my aerial system. I don't know much about these things but I'm pretty sure that if I have no problems on 4 other channels then it shouldn't be my system.
And how does it just go down suddenly?

My inlaw's decoder did the same thing last night - apparently it is a regular occurrence.

They are trying to 'nudge' you guys to go digital.

It is an old trick. Make the customer so sick with an outdated product, that they are left with no alternative but to get the new one - ka-ching! :D

Same issue here

We've had the same exact issue for months now. In fact, as I type this there has been no sound for about an hour.

I've done the same call multichoice, unplug, retune process. I've swapped my decoder out and they replaced it with a totally defective one.

We've actually been ok for a month or 2 but here we go again.

Between the censorship of audio on channels and this I'm getting to the point where I am willing to live without MNET.

I never had that problem.
If I had to guess, i'd guess that the kids are fiddling with the decoder and putting the volume down. If not, I'm also cluless
