Last year after all these ADSL specials came available I decided it's time to get back to ADSL after a 2 years absence & fun with Iworst.

So I place my order in DEC 2009. Then the fun starts, I get told that Edenvale is not DSL enabled, strange as I had ADSL 2 years ago. After about a week or so they come back & say there are no available DSL infrastructure @ my exchange, all the ports are full. And they will only look into it in the new financial year, will have to phone back in March 2010 to see what's happening.

So come March I phone & get told that their new financial year only starts in April 2010, phone back then. Yester 8 April I phone again, this time no one can tell me what's happening or give my any info, all I am told I must phone a Mavis Rabecca @ 011-449-3993 and this number just rings until it times out, I doubt its even plugged in!

Surely in a Johannesburg suburb it should not be this difficult to get ADSL?

Does anybody know anybody that will be able to assist me on this?

Order no: 1883 469-45 placed in DEC 2009

Have you tried going into the Telkom shop in Greenstone and asking about it?

I got my line upgraded there and it was done very quickly.

Maybe they really do have no ports available :(

The part that really pisses me off if that no one can tell what will happen now? Doesnt seem like there is any way foward from this.

Eish I cant believe, I am going to be stuck with Iworst till they go under which by the look of things is not going to take very long.

Spoke a Telkom techie working 2 blocks from my house, he said as far as he knows there are still some open ports, gave me a number to phone monday for his supervisor so maybe I will just get this done in reverse order

So after a long wait I finally get a call they are jsut waiting for a techi to come do the install. - date 17 May :-(

Last night I thought lets put a phone in and see, what do you know its alive, can recieve calls but not make any. So now I just need get them to unblock outgoing calls, surely this cant take 3 weeks! Does this mean the ADSL is also enabled?

Can anybody please help?

Order no: 431570-45 & 12417950A, tell no 011-452-****

I don't think you should post your phone number here, the order numbers are enough.

Edit your post.

Maybe they are telling half truths, so many home offices in Edenvale. I know in our building/house there are 4 x 4096 lines running

Finally got it sorted today after I had to go back to the greenstone telkom shop, wala press of a button & its working, why didnt they do this in the first place?
