Hi All,

I moved in with my Fiance back in April, and had to get my DSL line transferred, so i applied well in advance to give the people @ telkom a chance to do their thing. We stay on a small plot just outside of East London(ie on the fringe of the city- not KM's away like a farm) on this plot there are 3 houses:

House A-Has Internet(384kb)
House B-Had Internet (got Line canceled after we ran a Cat5e cable from House A-this is a permanant fix as occupant isnt a interwebz pirate like me)
House C-Had a Telephone line (where i now live and NEED DSL(temporarily running a second CAT5e cable ))

I have now been waiting for ages but apparently there are no more available points @ the Exchange for me. Nobody can tell me about the unofficial "Waiting list" that I am on.

I dont believe this forum allows polls so ill just type it out:

So if you were me...What would you do?

  1. Screw it, I'm moving back to my bachelor pad!
  2. Fork out the cash to upgrade house A's internets to 4MB and rate limit house A and B.
  3. Wireless route??
  4. QQ wrists with heatsink, and hang myself with Cat5e to make a statement.
  5. Leave the interwebs and "Do something constructive with your time". (farm)

I've called the center everyday (for the past 3 months) only to hear the same story. "This order is parked."

Had the same problem when I applied for a DSL line.

After repeatedly phoning the help(less) desk, some bright spark suggested WiMax. Even that took 4 months to install (the whole process had to be re-started).

Just gave them a buzz, they say that the order is still not validated. the last comment was placed today @ 14:55 saying:

"Please use same comments, leads provided."

Moggie, are you a Angel? (not in a gay way, but like Castiel from Supernatural : D)
