NO BIS on Vodacom

No BES either

For the few BB users out there, Vodacom or BB is making sure to remind us never to get another BB again. I cant use a BB for business if so many single points of failures (SP, BB switch, BES server) exists and one will blame the other.. My friends with iPhones and Samsung's are laughing at me now.

Hi,

My Vodacom BIS Service has been down from about 1am this morning. Furtunately, I'm picking up my new cell phone (never again BlackBerry), this morning :)

Nope, not Vodacom. Seems the same problems that happened yesterday (and was eventually fixed by BB) might be recurring. I've escalated to them again.

Your argument is flawed!

How is it not Vodacom? If I have my wife's BB on Vodacom, there is zero BIS connectivity. If I connect her to our WIFI at the office, then her BIS symbol lights up and all services are restored.

It's not rocket science to see that Vodacom is the weak link in the above troubleshooting...

Correct. BIS down for me and I'm able to use BBM via stolen wifi. Its Vodascum. Time to port.

Blackberry still has value for me for office hours always on connectivity with fixed cost. After hours I use a far superior Samsung Galaxy Tab with a Cell C Whoosh sim...

But Vodacom is irritating the hell out of me now. At night the BB is dog slow, and now this is day 2 with BIS connectivity issues.

I think I might give MTN a try (after having had my number with Vodacom since 1997!!)

I've had a Blackberry since sunday and I've been loving it. I've already been thinking of porting my number to cellc for their 99c a minute calls. Crappy BIS is now another reason to jump ship.

The really annoying thing is that whatsapp doesn't work without BIS on a blackberry so I'm basically left with phone calls and sms for communication when my BIS is down. Which kind of defeats the purpose of getting a Blackberry in the first place.

Why is my argument flawed?

And it's not an 'argument'. I know exactly what happened yesterday.

But to *try* and get you to think a bit; every link has two points with corresponding equipment. If the stuff on the other end fails on a specific link to Vodacom, how is that Vodacom's fault?

Think a bit about it. ;)

Vodacom is always the weak link when it comes to BIS.
Vodacom's BIS users are permanently throttled and capped !
Vodacom sucks ! ! !
