XP Home, SP 2, HP Pavilion ZE 4230,

on desktop the My Bluetooth Places shows but when I click on it nothing happens.

The file bthprops.cpl, in start> run> bthprops.cpl, causes nothing to happen.

Loaded Widcomm 4.0.1.2301, with USB 2.0 dongle last week everything worked but I and then could not get the headset to work with the audio portion of the computer, or Skype, yet

computer did communicate with my Trace phone.

Something happened as I installed a software suggested by HP, which was an older version of the Widcomm, which apparently included HP audio application for headset.

USB device showing in my device manager, under bluetooth.

Also in Control Panel under Bluetooth Bonfiguration, when I click in icon nothing happens.

I have a copy of the file 'bthprops.cpl' on my desktop and found it by searching for it. Can I please be advised where I can put it that will make it work?

Did system restore to June 2, prior to any installation of software or Bluetooth USB 2.0 hardware and that did not help.

Uninstalled everything and reinstalled Widcomm 4.0.1.2301, and still the bthprops.cpl file does not activate the bthprops.cpl program.

Thank you in advance, and any solution will be greatly welcomed.
Cordially,
Robert
