Loadshedding happened, power came back on but no Internet. It's been almost 3 hours of sms'ing help but no call back from AH. This is seriously not on

Edit: I sent around 25 sms's, not a single response from AH. It's now been 14hrs

That is really horrible. It does take a while for the connection to come back on after the power has been restored. We have had reports of it taking over 2 to 3 hours. This is done to help prevent any infrastructure damages

Weird. I never have any problems with my fibre at home. Up in under 30 seconds.
The next interesting poll on MyBB soon is gonna be with what ISP are you with and how long does your internet take to start up again.

Good Luck, hope your ISP can sort this matter out asap. Not acceptable in the 21st century

Well, I guess I'll have to tell my wife, who works from home for an international company, that she will be able to work again anywhere from 10mins to 5hrs (what it took to come back online last night).

I know how horrible this is an I am so very sorry. Vumatel has released multiple statements regarding this and we are working with them to try and help each and every client affected.

Normally this should last for about 2 hours. After 2 hours and if your connection has not returned, please try rebooting your devices and see if your connection returns.

There were a few reports for residence in Cape Town.
"Due to the number of suburbs that are being loadshed at once in CPT, we are experiencing longer than normal delays to restore fibre services when power is restored. We have all hands on deck to solve this. We kindly request your patience while we work to restore all services."

I am not sure if you are located in Cape Town, but your symptoms seem to point in that direction. Please let me know if I am wrong so I can try and get some more information for you.

OpenServe (with Afrihost as ISP) is back quick quick. Maybe it will help if you get a UPS to keep the connection online, and if your wife is using a laptop to work on, she has internet connection the whole time.

We have tested and a USP works pretty well.
