No connection except on LTE/5G

I have noticed that when I am in an area where there's no LTE/5G coverage. As soon as the phone switches to 3G/HSDPA the internet is completely gone until I am in an area with coverage for LTE/5G.

I thought they are still planning the switch off for the older tech.

Anybody else experiencing the same?

Did you check your mobile network settings? Usually that should be on "Auto" but some phones also have 3G only, LTE only, 2G only, etc. settings. Maybe it's set to LTE only. Otherwise I have no idea.

Never changed this.

It was happening on my previous Galaxy S20 and now S23
