So ... I'm trying to see if I can somehow help the blokes at 10215 to solve my ADSL problem.

I have a weird problem with my brand new ADSL line in that I can connect to the DNS servers and do name-lookups, I can even use the NSLookup program that windows provides, but I cannot get any other traffic through the connection, no matter which ISP I dial through.

So .. obviously something is not setup correctly on their side that is ISP irrelevant.

But .. here's the JEM ... I'm looking through TelkomSA.Net, and on this page : http://www.telkomsa.net/support/troubleshooting/connection.jsp ; the last option "I can connect, but cannot view any web pages" is closest to my problem ... and the solution is:
1. Check the DNS settings of your connection. You will need to specify the following DNS settings.

Primary DNS 196.25.1.1
Secondary DNS 196.25.1.9

2. For Win 98 - Make sure that logon to network is not enabled and that only enable software compression and TCP/IP is enable.
3. Make sure that you have specified a default connection in your browser, and the system is set to "Always dial my default Connection"
4. Try doing a ping test. If the ping "times out" then it may be a "no data moving" issue - in this case you will have re-install TCP/IP.

Now, 1,2,3 are quite plausible, but number 4 ... RE-INSTALL TCP/IP ... bwaaahahahahaha .. I mean ... comon!

I really like Teklom. No .. really.
