Hi Guys

I've been trying to install Ubuntu along with Win XP. The install completes but then after restart it goes straight into XP and doesn't give me the option of selecting an OS.

Any ideas why this would happen?

Pada I installed Ubuntu after Win XP.

My main drive is a SATA drive with Win XP. Then I have a IDE drive with the Ubuntu on.

Ok I've unplugged all the drives accept for the IDE drive that Ubuntu will be on. So I'm going to install Ubuntu completely and then just add the lines to boot XP to GRUB after re-connecting the SATA drives. Hope that works will update.

Not much of install. Resize SATA drive and place Grub there or change BIOS settings.

Try Spur? Their grub is ok... as long as you eat in.... :p

but seriously

Thats the best option.

Just always remember to set your GRUB installed disk as your primary boot in the BIOS. I've made that mistake before (more than what I want to admit).

Removing the SATA drives solved the problem. I just need to add the Win XP installation to the GRUB loader.

you need to tell your BIOS to look to boot off the IDE drive first and then your SATA drive. Or install GRUB onto the MBR of your SATA drive.
